| May 15: Pahiyas (Lucban and Sariaya, Quezon province, Luzon) This festival also honors San Isidro de Labrador. Pahiyas means "precious offering," which here involves every house in entire towns lavishly decorated with all manner of agricultural products and chandelier-like floral designs made from rainbow-colored rice wafers know as kiping. Parades and processions for the saint are held in mid-afternoon, with homeowners throwing the fruit and other produce decorating their homes to the passing crowd. | ||
